show research (pictures of real shows)

the wiz

this picture shows a dim lighting which i can use to integrate in to the show
where as in this one on the actors are lit very well but still fairly dim in the back ground

bouncers

the lighting here is a dim light as it looks they are outside

they have spot lighting on each of them which is good to add in to

mamma mia:

mamma mia is a very bright all around the stage

for solos they use spot lights for them as it is for only a couple people.

the lion king:

the show is bright with orange and red in the back ground.

again it has a red back ground but it is very dark.

the woman who cooked her husband:

in these six pictures it shows a brightly lit area but in the bottom right corner it is a blue lighting which could show a sad scene.

all these picture were to help me think of better ideas of what lights i could use for my show.

shows for NVQ bouncers

i worked on the show called directed scene, which had lots of different musicals and plays in it.
i am going to talk about bouncers and the challenges i faced setting up for it and the limitations that came with it.

what challenges do i face?
one of the challenges i faced was the room i am in. its a 14m by 12m room with a functioning lighting rig and 2 speakers. but the main problem with it, it has a suspended wall that gets in the way when trying to place lights.

lighting requirements:
general wash lighting which i use NJD lights as the beam is large enough to light a small area that i am in and i use 6 of these. 3 for front lighting and 3 for back lighting.
2 acclaim lights for a horizontal line that i have 1 acclaim one side of the lighting bar and one at the other side so i can line them up to make a horizontal line.
colour LEDs just to add some colour in.

perspectives:
with the limitations of being in the drama studio that it will be portrayed differently such as the lighting will be more dimmer as the sound would be louder because of the small room to make it seem larger. the performers will have to not do as many movements in there performance because of the size they won't be able to do many big movements.

batman live the secondary sources

I'm looking at the set of batman live showing the setting and the types of design that was taken from the comic book series.

this is a shot of batman on a tall building looking over the city. this is a secondary source because in the comic book series he watches over the city in a lot of scenes waiting for crimes to happen.

this picture is of the BATMOBILE which is a different version to the comic books but it is based off the series taking ideas which show that it a secondary sources

this is the batsuit from batman live which is a secondary source because it has been taken from the comics and changed to make it more bigger and real then in the comic books

batman live primary sources

hello bloggers, my task was to prove what a primary source is and show different types of primary source and so i choose to do batman live show different thing that they got from the comics to and here are some examples

this shot is from the comics of batman looking over the city which was used a lot in and in batman live as this is the one of the original shot of batman.
from the detective comics this is batmans suit which is a primary source because in batman live they take the designs from this comics and change it but using the same ideas from it

this is the cover of one of the originals comics of the batmoblie as you can tell over time it has changed so much but this was one for the first ones around
