i worked on the show called directed scene, which had lots of different musicals and plays in it.
i am going to talk about bouncers and the challenges i faced setting up for it and the limitations that came with it.
what challenges do i face?
one of the challenges i faced was the room i am in. its a 14m by 12m room with a functioning lighting rig and 2 speakers. but the main problem with it, it has a suspended wall that gets in the way when trying to place lights.
lighting requirements:
general wash lighting which i use NJD lights as the beam is large enough to light a small area that i am in and i use 6 of these. 3 for front lighting and 3 for back lighting.
2 acclaim lights for a horizontal line that i have 1 acclaim one side of the lighting bar and one at the other side so i can line them up to make a horizontal line.
colour LEDs just to add some colour in.
perspectives:
with the limitations of being in the drama studio that it will be portrayed differently such as the lighting will be more dimmer as the sound would be louder because of the small room to make it seem larger. the performers will have to not do as many movements in there performance because of the size they won't be able to do many big movements.
